You should try adding some contrast and colour changes's maybe.

Yeh maybe you can add some more affects and contrasts, but it is different from most.

It looks like you just took a stock photo and gave it scanlines. Don't do that. That could be breaking the copyright law. Try with some levels, curves, hue/saturation, and brightness/contrast.
