the border need a little blending possibly just some opacity tweeks. the quotes is pretty cool I guess.

Looks alright, needs more though.

I looked for better renders but that was the best one.
The text i found online (i picked it cause it looked closest to the serenity movie font)
and the boarders were done by brushes.

I see, it's just that the colours really clash.
Dark space colours then a darkish blue then a red.
Like someone said before, blending 'em would probably make it better.

Didn't use save it? Or doesn't GIMP save files with seperate layers?
