printing quality in PS

how can I Improve the quality when printing?
i know there is something my computer teacher told me about dpi or something like that

my teacher uses JPEGs and sets the print quality to "best" did u try that??

o i used png's
but i wanted to know how to do the dpi thing

the dpi has something to do with the output of ink onto the paper.
in the window when you press Print, go to Preferences/Printer Preferences, click on the paper/quality tab, and change the print quality
