Well, They most likely had some ships stationed there so they might of tried to fight back anyways.

It's Contact Harvest, where the Covenant attacked without any warning. The Battle of Harvest is where they had more of a, well... battle. Harvest was a peaceful planet, they likely did not have battle-ready ships stationed there.

That's what I figured as well, which is why I had suggeted merely having civilian or non-military human ships attempting to flee the planet, not fight.

I think there should be some human interaction in the piece. I'm seeing many missiles in the air, but I think there should be some sort of real resistance from the humans, if only a couple ships trying to make it off the planet, some making it, some getting blown up, etc etc.

I'm not entirely sure what the beams are that are hitting/coming from the two covenant ships in the center of the planet. What are they shooting/who is shooting them?

Otherwise, great piece. Keep it up.
i tried to depcit that as human civilian ships fleeing the planet. the covenant are shooting them down. Something that i rememberd from GOO :)

On the dA comments, I wrote:Just two things. The atmosphere on the bottom right part of the planet looks kinda weird. Also, I don't like how the blue color that is on the top half is also partially in the bottom part. I think that if you're going to have the planet split by shadow that much, each side should have it's own distinct color. Still, I love the lighting, and excellent choice of colors overall.
Also, something I just noticed. The blue color of the nebula isn't reflected in the Covenant ships as it should be.
