The CQB i just did, and i used a reference from the bungie.net renders gallery. I did not trace it. i shrunk it down, and used it as a reference image.

the senic species concept was done for D-G, and i used absolutely no references at all on it. a painted version of both is possible. the senic image is already in painting progress, however.

The first one is a little too messy.

I'd suggest drawing out a full body profile in the T pose or whatever of your species on the bottom. It might help also to draw the skeletal makeup of it to get an idea for how the thing moves and what it would look like in whatever pose.

First one is pretty sweet for the shapes. The second one is pretty much shading. But they both are great. ;D

1st one looks exactly like master chief, and the second looks like a locust from GOW.

are these concepts for a game you guys are working on? or did you just wanted to draw those characters?
