[MOD] Remove Internal invisible barriers (NOT A DUPE)

These do not remove the barriers that prevent you from being killed by the guardians (ceiling, edges of level) only one internal barrier i could not remove (on the beach against the tall wall) i have come to believe this is not part of the bsp collision... there is no BSP collision there anymore

these patches remove the barriers and also remove the death barriers
the PPF was generated with DotHalo 1.03b

i will be submitting more levels at my leisure
i will not be taking requests for levels
i will take requests for other LEGAL means of distribution
this one took me nearly 5 hours to complete so dont expect the rest in a timely fashion :-p

UPDATE:

Added Warlock
this removes the invisible barriers in front of the rooms above red base and blue base and removes the death barriers that were in those rooms. i also added a ceiling so you can super bounce and not die

Added Burial Mounds
Removed the barriers that keep you from coming back into the level but kept the barriers around the edge of the level
there's a little collision left under the wheel but its minor
if anyone finds any really glitchy places, please let me know

Added Coagulation
Same as others + i removed the max height for the banshee

Added Foundation
this one was really easy

Added Backwash
this one was tough, not only did i remove the barrier around the perimeter but there were several places that had other barriers to keep you from getting up or onto them
i wanted to raise the ceiling so we could jump onto the building but the top of it is part of the ceiling so i think it would be more work than its worth

Added Terminal
omfg that was tough
someone better appreciate this one, there are no longer those barriers above the open sections and now we can jump in the train tunnels
its kinda weird, the train runs at full speed until the end, stops, and disappars and the front end will kill you even at a stand still

Added Sanctuary

Added Beaver Creek

Added Turf
there are a couple places that still have collision that i could not remove for the life of me :(
but the main barrier to keep you from getting out of the level is completely removed


That's it. AFAIK, none of the other official maps have invisible barriers besides containment which i cant find any BSP collision anyway :(

Sounds nice but Bsp Master Never worked. It only screws the map up.

Whyd you post the .obj's?

5 hours? I did the whole ocean barrier in about 5 min and the base side in 10 min

I dont know what you used to do it but Milkshape works great for me and I injected with entity


GJ and btw why did you post the obj why not just inject and post the serenity?

i spent 5 hrs because part of the level naturally doesnt have a ceiling and i had to try several things to get one there and still work
also, i tried like hell to remove that wall by the beach

im jealous if milkshape can export in a format that entity will import correctly
im using a program called anim8or
i dl milkshape but i couldnt figure out how to move anything or edit the points or edges
the way i finally got something to work was by double clicking on each point, finding the point number, and moving that point under the level using the meta editor in entity
the invis-ppf patches that were released before did this same thing except they moved every point with a Z of 19.1 under the level
this moved the edge walls and ceiling below the level and made it so no one could super jump or go near the edges

i shared all the patches and objs just so anyone could do it the way they want
any noob with Dothalo can apply the ppf
anyone who wants to use this on a map that has been modded can inject the obj

i didnt know if BSPMaster had ever worked for anyone, i just knew it screwed everything up for me :)
AFAIK, it cant import the same file it exported
i do know that the obj file it exports only defines points

i attached three files
one is a serenity patch, one is a ppf patch generated by dothalo, and the other is two obj files from BSPMaster and Entity

had me scared that something wasnt showing up or whatever
i think this is the first thing ive submitted to halomods

so i figured out how to use milkshape and all but for me it still doesnt work when i try to inject with Entity

can i not remove points or edges?
when i edit a bsp obj in any other program and try in inject with Entity 1.1.5 or 1.1.6, i lose all collision in zanzibar (i dont thing ive tried any other levels)
i posted about this, no one had any answers

A pic of what you did would be nice because I have no idea. And Milkshape is simple, it's pretty much the only 3D modeling program I understand and it imports.exports Wavefront OBJ's.

this isnt exactly right but its close
this is approx. where the top of the wall goes and AFAICT, it has no slope

all i did was change the 19.1's to -19.1

i also had to move this point over and drop it down to 19.0 to keep from dying when i jumped up there

now that i remember, there were a couple short ledges on the wall that goes into the ocean that i simply dropped down to the same level as the wall itself

this is where there is still a barrier and i dont know why and all my attempts to move or remove it have failed :(

btw, Anim8or is what ive been using (except for the screenshots) and from what i can tell from today, as far as editing obj's, they have about the same functionality but for me, Anim8or is easier to control and select points
it looks as though both export the obj's in the same format
and Anim8or is free :)

I dont believe it is legal to post the obj's, because they are copyrighted.

i just realized that those patches might have a higher jump...
ill check and if so then ill replace them
