no duncan that wouldnt be halo 2 reloads the cache everytime a map is selected

i think u might wanna change the name of the thread, ud probably get alot more views. People probably think its a jackle shield your talking about. Just an idea.

i just tried it out...man i wish they would of left this in..it adds a degree of difficulty to gameplay...im keeping this one..for systemlink good job guys

Actually, it would technically be very possible. Map files are stored in the X, Y, Z partitions. Usually, (on a stock HD), the Mainmenu and Shared.map go on the Y, and the MOST REASENT PlAYED MAPS GO ON THE X partion....... :twisted:
Well..... I don't think this would work seeing as the map itself is changed, it's not like skinning or anything like that... The switch was altered among other things... I could be wrong because I have very little knowledge of modding :P

U could be right... but think about a completely autoaim sniper.....I COULD BE A NOOB :-)!

Also the light int he front light up to let you know when the gate is opening/closing kinda hard to see but here. also a pic i couldent include in orignal post of the gate open right in the front

k, i patched containment and put it in my halo 2 directory and i could see the mod. When i do get it tho do i just use the gate switch to use it?

i knew there was a huge machine in containment. there was just that one place ware bullet holes didn't show up. i think when you opened the game the shield closed, or there was a swich wasre he meleed, the gate open and shield closed would hev been better.

Wonder why they left it in on a download, be cool if they made a small patch that would make it appear/disapear for assault or sometrhing like the bridge on colossus when playing ctf.

I agree it should be like a quike option.
V. 2 will have both shields on both bases

also to clea a few things up with you hit the switch for the normal gate
it opens the shield

i left the sheild opening properties normal

bungie made the shield so that it is normaly closed around the flag area and there are 2 little door to get in one on each side you can see in the pic. then ther is of corse the holes that fall into the inclosed room. next version should be ready in another day. right now its looking like next version will be done real soon. like in the day and it will be mad so that it fun to play with.

That's exactly what i thought lol.

VERY nice, darn bungie. Always taking out the good stuff. Even though that would have made it extremely hard to get a flag out... or a bomb in. Nice find though.
