I stumbled unto random marines like....17 months ago, you can see it in this mod. At that time I didn't know what caused it, but now if you look at the scnr ent plugin on Halo Plugins you'll see a string id named spawned permutations, which sets (and I bet you can't guess it) the ai's permutation ;p . Now if this string id is set to something random, the ai will just use totally random permutations. Jackals are the funniest to do this to, because one makes them about elite size and sometimes they have a shield that looks like 2 attached together (almost like the hunter's sword/shield) =)

Now I don't know how to set the permutation of the biped that you spawn in...

it's in the HLMT of the marine. in the variation reflexive you have to set a chunk to "default" , that'll be the default spawned permutation. i believe the 7th chunk is for the ODST..
i was wondering why the odst is wearing the hat, but that might be a different permutation.. i think its the BASE permutation, it got stuff like elite_helmetless in it so have a look there

edit: i look at the pics again and i see the permutation are all proper messed up, its an ODST with hat, and green marine arms...
i wonder how you messed this up lol

Well I thought he knew what he was doing but guess, not. It would be nice though to make a perminant mixed permutation like a marine with a ODST helmet. Let me know if theres a way.

actually when you don't specify the permutation, the character spawns in different marine variations, but not in ODST with hat and marine arms like this mod got..

Exactly, its in the fixing bipid step I believe. Obviously, he skipped it >.>
I've put in lots of chars before but i dont skip steps, thats probably why I never got it.
