so ive been also experimenting with AI...so far i have an MC and an Elite in beavercreek that shoot u, and eachother....i have a few questions if u will care to answer

1)How do i get them to respawn? if its a script, where do i get it and how do i enter it for them to follow.

2)My AI dont have shields, u can see a shield "trying" to recharge, but it doesnt. how do i increase their shields?

3)How come my Elite wont die unless i shoot it in the head with a sniper,magnum, or BR?

4)To get AI like Hunters to work without freezing, what all needs to be nulled out?

this is probably newbish sorta question, but you know the Entity way to get simple AI in the map? by copying the vehicle, weapon,characters,ai squads, styles, and ai squad types to the clipboard, and adding the meta to the map in the MP map? Why can't you do that with zones, like, i saw in the "Clone Chunk" menu, "Zones", cant you add that to the map, and the zones will be in the map?? or is that like, the most retarded question ever?

i havent studied up on zones, ai, or respawn script, so, im kinda behind on the information, which is why that that ^^^ is probably a dumb question. cuz im just curious of why that wouldnt work, or what would happen.

ive been tinkering wih AI myself i did a BSP conversion of *gasp* SpaceStation! and it worked!!!!!!!!!!(and to my knoledge i am the FIRST to get it to work) i was planning on making it an 3-16 player co-op map but it corrupted itself when i changed the spawn with a 3rd party app and well... i frgt to make a recent backup of it... and answering ur question Aumaan Anubis to my knoledge yes if u copy the zones over it shud work i was also going to try this with a SPmap that the spawns were level say at a decent co-ord and and it would of worked but well i screwed up or else right now id be posting a download for the first 3-16 player co-op SP map conversion!

also ive been trying to get ahold of none other then tru but he wont answer my IMS!

Well AI isn't easy, its not like you get 5 nerds, coke-a-cola, and a bunch of computers and 2 days later theres AI. Its more like 50 Nerds, Cocaine, and Supercomputers, then 2 weeks later you get AI.

What does doing a BSP conversion have to do with AI?

Also, if you copy zones from one map to another, it'll probably lock up or the AI will act like they're on the map you copied it from, and run into walls, hide behind objects that aren't there, etc.

he sadi he did a bsp conversion and added the ai back in and they worked supposedly :roll:

last time i tried it locked up, but i thought it was maybe because i put too many elites in the map.

well, at least they'd move around and stuff, itd be an improvement from what we got so far, unless trulife is on the edge of figuring it all out.

1st off, thats a load of crap, and 2ndly when u bring over the zones it freezes, but there are probably other reflexives that they need to be linked to

space station bsp? what?! that place is to unbelievably big to succesfuly convert. btw anyone can make a co-op map by transfering over zones,style,char,squads.squad types. then by transfering the required files for ur bsp conversion like vehicles char, styles etc. Thing is, is if you exceed 80 megs your map will not load. as time consuming as it is, its fun.

ps: the reason campain maps don't load in mp is not because they exceed 80 megs. its because there scenerios don't support MP. otherwise tutorial.map would work.

no...if a MP map is over 80 megs..it wont load...period.

thats true also, but has no realevence to what I was talking about. I loaded a 128 meg campain map, but the scenario did not support multiplayer. The campain maps load fine in mp that exceed 80 mges, they just freeze when giving a button command. If the sole reason the campain maps wont load in multiplayer over 80 megs then tutorial.map would work fine. But its because of the campain scenerio that freezes in mp. Not JUST because its 80 megs. now the 80 megs rule applys for multiplayer maps.
