Working Flamethrower

OK...so... here is an almost perfectly working flamer, I am not going to post a pic cause you all know what it looks like. There are two minor porblems that if you guys want to fix you can be my guest and post it (if you do fix it). The two problems are as follows:
1. Not PERFECT sound when the flame comes out
2. You can't really see the close flame in 3rd person, but you can see it in 1st and you can see the flame engulf objects
The fixes to the original flamethrower are as follows:
1. MC runs fine (he does not float and he can turn normal, also jump normal)
2. The flamer gives damage, you can change the damage to whatever you want, it is named "flamethrower explosion"
Well... i think that's it, have fun.

Pretty cool. I'm gonna add this to my GElite mod and increase the damage to 11. Nice work. Hope someone can fix this.

Sweet, I was messing with this a while ago as I'm sure many of us have but I could never get the 3rd person biped movement to work properly, how'd you accomplish that?

Thanks guys, i'm not releasing my secrets just yet, because to make this work, i had been looking at the antr and model meta for about 2 months. I had it finished a week ago and decided to finally release it after i got some time to play it by myself. Yes, i do think it is a very big accomplishment and i am glad you guys are happy with it. I don't think i will continue work on this just because i am sick of the flamer now :-P. Besides, i think it is basically perfect, and i love using it even without the perfect sound when the flame comes out, i don't think it really needs to be imporved, but i mean, everything can always be improved... WOW... i am also surprised only 30 downloads :-P i thought you guys would be on this like stink on a monkey or something.

Hmm, it seems that the 3rd person antr was swapped to the sniper rifle to make it run... Good job though...
I don't understand your idea of humor... But it sickens me <_<

Yes, that was one thing i had to do, did i swap it to the sniper though? :-X i thought i swapped it for the plasma rifle antr. But i had to do that because otherwise there was no animation for the flamethrower, so i had to give it something else, it would be cool if we could put our own animations in though...

I swaped its user ability with the AR's. It works fine, but i had to aim straight down to get it to shoot strait :shock:

Now tell me... why would you swap it's weapon user ability? obviously you have to aim down to shoot straight with using the assualt rifels and every other one... I had it perfect, DONT CHANGE IT! :P You will only mess it up, cause the weapon flame (when you mess with it) will shoot upwards cause of the way the model meta and the physical model are. So if you change it, i guarentee you will screw it up, don't mess with it, mine was perfect lol. But seriously, i know what i'm talking about, you can't just click buttons in a plug in...

I didn't edit yours, I made my own. Changing the user ability changes the way you hold a weapon, which is how i got the elite to hold a shotgun with 1 hand. By doing this, I made it shoot slightly up insted of down, made him walk correctly, and MADE THE FLAMES VISIBLE. I am convinced I am very close to fixing it truly PERFECTLY as soon as i figure the pointing thing. Just because I have few posts doesnt mean I'm a noob, I've been doing all my mods with a hex editor since halo modding was first done. Not to sound rude, but in the future, try to understand people's ideas before you go and think that they are stupid. You could learn from this info.

Sry, i didn't mean to be offensive, i don't think i said you were a noob, and yes, changer the "user ability" as it's called in that HMT plug in, does change the way the weapon is held, I did that with this flamer too, i have basically done it that way, but i couldn't get the right coordinates, so i decided to do it this way instead. Although, i can't learn from your info because that was the first thing i tried, and i hope you weren't implying that i am a noob too, and sry but i had no idea you meant you were using an ORIGINAL flamer. :wink: And yes, if you change the weapon user ability and add damage to the gun it is almost perfect, but you have to manually rotate the gun model of the 3rd person as the new "user ability" holds the weap normally, and the flamers 3rd model is tilted, then you have to look in the _____.meta here, but you should know which one that is since you are so close to doing it :wink: lol, it's the model meta. There is where the coodinates for projectile and i believe somewhere in there is the effect/pctl. So if you figure out the rigth floats(coordinates), then be my guest, but i looked at that the first week i did this, i did exactly what you did (cept a little more changing the model meta) and i couldn't get the pctl to shoot straight cause of the wrong coordinates, but... if you feel you need to do it urself, be my guest :wink:
so i hope you can learn from my stuff

I'm calling your bluff FoxRacing. I don't think you really did this along time ago. I've been on all the halo modding sites since this crap started and I never seen a working flamethrower till now. If youreally did, then what site. If Zulux is a noob that must mean "yours" is better, so repost it, if it even exist. I mean even if the site went down you should have a hard copy on your computer or your xbox even. If not then you have no credibility in my opinion.

I think that FoxRacing got somewhere close to my mod, like he might have gotten the damage to be there (which is really easy) but i doubt he got it so MC would run fine AND the flamer would shoot straight. You may not know me well, so i don't care if you call me a newb, but if you did play some of my mods like the perfect banshee in BG (the exact perfect one) that i did with Allister you wouldn't dare call me a n00b :wink: and i don't care if you did this already, i just figured it out and posted it... i think it's cool and obviously some other people haven't played YOUR version before so i don't see whats wrong with me posting mine?

I can't wait to try this. I've been messing around with you Perfect Banshee for BG & that is one of the best things I have seen in a VERY long time. So I am sure this one will prove to be great. I'm DL'ing it now!!!.
