I made this a while back wen everyone was creating different bitmaps and thats about wen i stopped. I'm a looser i know but modding is too much for me. I'll leave it to you guys!

It is a Halo 2 UI for XBox.

I'm not sure I care to use this, but if I decide to try it, how do I make it work? Do I patch the default.xbe or what?

No, it stays just as the modded maps do.

How can I patch this to make it permanent? Is this possible? Can I just patch the cache002 then compress it as ui.map? Dang, wish I wasn't always at work...I wanna play. It looks good though.
Thanks

Yeah, but I mean, what if you want to play a different mod, and then another different mod etc...? Or am I missing something?

You should take out the halo. It will make it seem more like Halo 2, since it will 'revolve' around planet earth at least for the first portion

Yeah, I'm confused by this statement as well. Since it is patched to only a cache file, how can is stay?

I don't know about the taking out the halo part. It may look cool if the earth had explosions on it...like on the H2 preview. Maybe that wouldn't look so good after all. Especially since the picture is static. Too bad it has to be a bitmap and not a gif. Or maybe have the halo smaller than earth so that it looks like it's in the background.
I dunno...I've gotta admit, I do kinda like it the way it is too.

Halodude, what happens when you clear the cache? If it disapears, is there any way to make it permanent? Or do you mean it is different because it is a map?

Okay, I tried to make it permanent on my lunchbreak. SUCCESS!!!
Just patch the cache002, compress it with SparkEditor2.5, and save it as ui.map. Works perfect and will stay.

I'm having trouble getting it to show up when it's patched to cache002.
Oh cool I got it. Ok I'll do what you said.

Wait so where do I send ui.map? I never did that before.
I guess I could just put it in the map folder in HCE? Or go into the map folder in the Halo file and overwrite? What happens when I want to get rid of it? lol
Well, I saved a backup of the normal ui.map so I should be ok if I patch it.
It failes to transfer when I try to overwrite the map.

Definately keep a backup of your ui.map. Just delete your original ui.map through ftp and then put the new one in it's place. Don't even worry about messing with overwriting it.

No prob at all. I ask a lot of questions so I like to help when I actually can. Do the same to your bloodgulch.map with either Skytore or Galite. Then after the've seen the title screen switch to this map when they aren't looking. Maybe you could actually convince them that it is a level from H2. Ahhh, good times.

Surely they can't be that gullible though.
