Yes, and I believe it would also be a valid argument to say that Bungie did not do such a great job with Halo PC in terms of optimizing it for system performance the way such as other developers have. For instance, the team behind Unreal Tournament 2004 has done a phenominal job with the game engine to allow it to perform on systems where performance is lacking. Halo PC just doesn't cut it for me in the area which is so important in a title like this which is the gameplay. Mediocre-at-best framerates even on good computers with higher benchmarks in the areas of processing power, ram, video, and sound card support I find to be completely unacceptable. If anything, it closed off the real market for Halo PC to such a miniscule niche that it isn't even worth it in the end.joesbadday wrote:yea. it's sad b/c xbox halo is one of the best games of all time and well.... halo pc just isn't, at all. the controls are hugely lacking, even when i made a cable to hook my xbox controller to my pc. it just isn't as good by a long shot.

i'm not even talkin about framerate and system performance... just the controls do not feel as fluid at all. and believe me, i'm not a noob at it. i played it for months thinkin i just had to adjust... but realized that it just isn't as good, gave my cd away, and turned on my xbox.

ARGH!!! I downloaded the program, and it didn't work. I downloaded the the file that fixed the problem for everyone else, and it still doesn't work. Any thoughts? On an unrelated note, I seem to be unable to sign-in with my regular name. It logs me in when I go to the other forum, but not here. I tried logging in manually, and it said that no such login exists or something like that. What's up with that?....they aren't seperate are they? Because that would be really embarrassing.....

10. inject the shaders you saved over unused effects in the new map and fix the tags / names on them etc.
11. go to the model tag and fix the dependencies of the model to show the new shaders
a little better?
im trying to replace a banshee with a ghost, a banshee has banshee and banshee_burned, a ghost has like 5 different things, i dont know what metas to replace with what, and what dependencies to replace with what, etc
