i dont get it...

halo just wont start on my computer! ive tried everything!
i get this error:
people suggested reinstalling directX 9, i did.
people suggested reinstalling halo, i did.
the thing that miffs me off is that it used to work, and now it doesnt!
does anyone have any idea?

start>run>dxdiag --- try that. Then look for the option that says "Hardware Acceleration". Make sure it is enabled. It might be due to the fact that your graphics card is not supported by Halo. A 32MB Radeon, that's pretty old.

I say you shold get at LEAST 64mb video card.... but I would recommend like 128mb or 256mb....
time to get a new video card...

oh yes, i forgot to mention i ran DXDIAG, all the tests came up perfectly, hardware accelleration is on. and it did work before....i even get the same error with the demo.
and all i have is this cruddy Radeon 7200...i wish i could get at least get radeon 9600 pro

Ya, well let me advise you. The better the video card the better the game will run. When you decide to get a new video card, get a really good one that will support games that will come in the future.
Well anyway, good luck on HALO.

yay, i got it to work somehow. i messed around with a few drivers and now i can actually start halo. but it glitches out and freezes up after 5 to 10 minutes
i might know whats wrong this time

Get updated drivers.... and set your settings in the game a bit lower
