hey, im new to this and i would like to know if anyone could tell me if there is a program that i could use to get all the sound effects out f halo, and if there isn't one, hoew i might go about doing so.

Also, as the subject sujests, one of my friends is running halo on a nvidia 32mb and im running it on a 48.
i have the latest drivers, lastest directx, my game grapcihs such as textures are better than his, yet when it comes to the colouring of the grunts and other chracters in the game, are all grey, not as though the are all one colour(as in allover their body and armour and stuff), but there armour clouor dosen't vary so far as i have seen.
this is not a major problem, i would just like to know if it is some setting in the display properties or something.
i have got used to them the way they are, so it dosen't bother me if it can't be changed.(don't fret your mids about this)

all replies will be greatly appreciated.

This really doesn't go here.

To get sounds you need to get an Xbox codec and HMT and extract them. Good luck finding the codec though.

There are programs to get sounds out of HaloPC and to put them back in. You will need HaloMapTools 3.5 and a OGG Vorbis to WAV/MP3 converter. It's VERY easy to do and funny when you switch sounds with other sounds or edit them or whatever (like making a grunt's voice sound really deep  .). Look for those programs on www.google.com. I'm pretty sure you'll find them to download somewhere. Hope that helps you out.

BTW you do NOT need an Xbox codec.

For the graphics you will have to update your graphics controller drivers. If that dosen't work then you will have to buy a new graphics card all together. I heard that the ATI Radeon 9600 or higher graphic cards kick some major ass. I'm getting myself one of those soon cause I have the same problem as you. The graphics card that I have right now is a Intel 845G something or other Graphics Controller and it fucking sucks    !!!
