Flickering monitor

Post by Detchro »

I have no idea why, but for some reason, my monitor keeps flickering, here are things that cause it to flicker...

Moving the cursor
typing
scrolling
opening files
leaving my pc alone
videos

And so forth. The original reason I believed was that my video card was failing, but I ignored the idea for a while. I tried to install drivers for my "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200" card, but it helped as much as kicking me in the ass. I already installed a new OS - Windows XP Gold Cobra SP3 - but it helped none. Any suggestions?

Check your refresh rate.

How do I do that? In display/Settings, right? I'll check it out. Should it be more, or less?

Also, didn't your sig say "Not removing this until philly eats himself" before? I actualy enjoyed that one more.

sounds like a refresh rate problem. also, you should try using a different monitor and see if the problem persists.
