.dds bitmap files???? adobe photoshop.....

ok i am a begginer at this and want to get going into the modding trade, well i was reading this topic http://halomods.com/tutorials/Basics/ui/ui.php...and i tried it out, when i clicked on save texture, it saved the file as a .dds file. the i tried opening it up in Adobe photoshop 7.0 and it wouldn't, so um how do i make photoshop open that dds file or how do i get HMT to save that differently??? please respond.....

ok, i figured it out, i found a plugin somewhere else on the forum for dds. anyways good to go and ready to mod....
