Old Laptop

Post by noxiousraccoon »

I got a laptop for free with Windows 98 on it. Now, since it doesn't have a Ethernet card I can only access the old dial up internet. It doesn't have a built in cd burner nor do I have an external burner. The USB drives I use don't work on it. It has a floppy drive but that is pretty much useless because nobody uses them anymore and my computer doesn't have a floppy drive anyways. Nonetheless, is there any way to transfer files from that computer to another one?

Make the USB work. I bet it's just a matter of drivers.

if you have a linux live cd lying around, i'm sure you could use that. then it would just be a matter of mounting a thumbdrive, transferring files, and unmounting.

but if you're unfamiliar with linux, you could try searching for the USB drivers on a separate computer, burning them to CD, and giving that a go.
