Alright guys, I have tried to find the fix for this but I cannot. I saw the FAQ for applying ppfs, so I...
copied the .map file to PC
applied patch with ppf-o-matic
copied the patched .map back to xbox
loaded halo
started a game on the map (bg)
... and it was just the same as always. No change to the map. I did use the ppf that was for bg, so that's not it.
The FAQ said to erase the cache files - is that erasing the maps and then starting the game? I erased bloodgulch.map and loaded halo from hdd, started a game on bg, quit, and there was no 'fresh file' in the maps folder. Sorry for long post but please help! thanks
NEWB!!! Problems applying patch

cache001 (i thk?) is the most recently played SP map and cache003 is the most recently played MP map. When u start a new MP/SP map, it erases the old cache file and puts the new one there.
