How do you make things shiny in Halo? I see screenshots where light reflects off ghosts and they shine a nice bright color. Mine don't!

Aye, I have a GeForce 4. It's like a MX420 or something like that. I'll check when I get home. Sorry for no specs, before. 2.24GHz Processor, 256 RDRAM, I forget video card RAM. I'll get those when I get home.
EDIT:
Yes, it's a GeForce 4 MX 420 with 64 MB memory.

Shoo, you need something better than a 420. I have a MX 440 and it doesnt support it.. Those shaders and stuff are on high end video cards and such... I havent checked into it.

On second thought, is there a way to force it?

on your desktop shortcut of halo or haloce type in the target line -use22 for an ati card to make things shiny...-use14 for geforce it should look like this :"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" -use14

Yea, but is that an upper line GeForce 3? It's probably better than my GF4... anyways, I'll try the -force14, I considered it before, but because I was getting 30 FPS when I ran the timedemo, I decided against it.

its specular setting, and if ur thinking of getting a new one, go with ati ull get better performance unless ur going for 5900 and up but still then better idea to go with the ati for the same price its a better card for ati. 6800 is great but x800 from ati is comin out and most games is performing better, especially if u end up getting the pciexpress one, but ull have to get a new mobo for it to work but it processes twice as fast.

Meh, I'm getting an ATI Radeon 9800XT w/ 256 DDR RAM. I'm happy.

You need a video card that supports AT LEAST Pixel Shaders version 2.0. The Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 is the lowest budget card that does. Or you can opt for Nvidia's new card, the 6800 Ultra. ATI's equivilents are the 9200 and X800, respectively.
