noob here, need help

i just got halo on PC and i wanna mod the crap outta it.
the problem is, i dont know how. i an really good at figureing stuff out, but i have no idea what software i need to get going.
i checked the software section of the forum, and i didnt know whai to download

you need HMT, HKK, and PPF-o-Matic and PPF Master

If you're on a PC you need HMT, HHT, Sparkedit, a hex editor and some PPF utility. http://files.halomods.com/viewforum.php?f=10 <--look in that forum
