Game won't load from HDD

Title pretty much says it all. It's a softmod.

When I go to load Halo 2 From the hard drive, it goes to the loading screen and then freezes. I can play the game from the hard drive by going through XBMC though. Although, when I try to use a trainer, such as Yelo, it freezes when it loads there as well. Any ideas on how to fix this?

It also doesn't like to play whatever is in the dvd rom either when I select Play DVD. Plays games just fine when I cold boot it or select it through XBMC.

P.S. I'm not really new. It just appears that I haven't been here in so long that my other account has been deactivated. I've just recently got back into screwing around with modding again.
