LOCKOUT MOD

Post by b1z3rk »

yo, i am doing a lockout mod, but i need some help,
i am planning to have "Doors" in places, the doors that
i have found are MACH and theyre in new mombasa.....

the main problem i have is... i have never done anything
with MACH before, how do i get it into the map.... like i know
i can copy with Insolence, but then how do i get the doors into
the map so i can position them with Entity?

Edit: Attatched Some Images

The pictures were kinda pointless, but the skin looks OK, not a huge fan of repeated textures on walls/floors/ceilings/everything.

it turns out that the texture "Composite_floor" was the ceilings.... and a lot of walls.

:::EDIT:::

OH NOOOES!

so yeah, i was following the TUT.. and it said

"4. select machine placement and count how many tag are under it in this case mine is 8, write this down."

so i go to doo that, and well... Machine placement isnt in there (lockout)
so either thats because theres no Mach's on lockout... OR i have the wrong entity, BUT i just downloaded it from the Halo 2 apps section.

Easy, open Entity. Open Lockout and the sp map. Put the maps in cascade view. Double click on the mach your wanting to transfer. Click and hold down then drag it into your map then it automatically adds a mach tag to Lockout.

Dosent work, i tried, entity sat for about 3 seconds, and said done, but in Lockout, no [MACH] tag appeared in the list.

Ugh... if anyone wants to have a look at the map add me to one of my many I.M accounts and i will send a patch.

i am trying to put nm_door_glass [MACH] from Newmombasa into Lockout.

Don't drag and drop it without checking off Parsed and Recrusive. (Sounds is optional). Just go to the [mach] tag in Metropolis (New Mombasa) then select the mach that you would like in this case it is nm_door_glass. Once you have selected it at the right check off Parsed and Recrusive. (Once again sounds is optional but if you want the machine to make a noise when moving I suggest you check that off too.) Now click Save and save it in a folder you would like. Then open Lockout in entity (If that is what your using). Then check off everything that you did for your mach which would be Parsed and Recrusive (Sounds if you did). DON'T choose inject just look under it and you should see Build, click on it. Now locate the folder that you saved the mach at and locate the .info file. After you have opened the .info tag it should be transferring to your map. Once it says Done then you are well done with transferring it.

YEAY!!!! IT WORKED!

cant belive it was so easy.

Well.... now in stuck on somthing else....

the tutorial says...

"10. remember how I asked you to write down those numbers? this is where it will come in handy. look up pallet and the number you wrote down for machine pallet we will need to edit everything above -1 of that number since 0 counts. (so if my number I wrote down for machine pallet is 2 I want to edit everything over 1)

11. Now swap the tags out for your newley added machine types."

but when i try too, Entity crash's.

An entire day later.........

oooOOOOOOOooooooo.....

Mod Edit: Indeed, don't double post.

i figuered an entire day later a second post was ok as it marks the topic as having "New Posts"......

got a problem...... ok.. on that door in that image... its roll / pitch / yaw are all set to 0

but i want to spin the door 90 degree... (so it is on the doorframe next to it) EXCEPT, neither Roll / Pitch / Yaw, spin the door the way i want.... im guessing i have to enter a figure that is a combination of all roll / pitch / yaw.... does anyone know what to enter?

:::EDIT:::
Dont worry, im retarded, i was changing the wrong bloody thing.
