Assualt rifle porting

Well, to simply get down to the problem I extracted the assualt riffle first person model and also extracted the battler riffle (removing all textures with it). now I injected it back into halo2 and the model looks hidious. It has missing parts to it as if it had holes. When I opened it up in 3ds or milkshape. no holes were detected. I believe this is a shader problem but I am not sure about that, or if so not even sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?
