HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I have a v1.0 Xbox which worked fine with its default factory HD..

I then upgraded it to a 80Gig from my TIVO which i found worked ok via the xbox hdcompatibility list. Its a Western Digital WD800..

After we did the HDM disc with all the files we had on the old drive and all went well in the copying.. I then locked the HD using the lockhd -a (which takes the info from the eeprom.bin we had copied..

I get the error 6 screen..

it didnt give any issues when locking, but if i have it unlocked HD then i get error 5..

What are the soloutions to this???

Should i unlock it then do the swap from the working HD to the new hd while its on trick?

or whats my other options??

sigh...halomods doesn't allow mod talk, but i sure as hell don't recommend hotswapping, as it can screw up your whole HDD, making it only useable as a paperweight...
