xbc illegal

i want to know exactly for sure if xbc is illegal, what im saying is if somebody from bungie knew you use xbc they would try to get you in trouble or not, and if it really messes with files of the game. and i want more than one answer telling me that

but my second question was does it mess with your files

it probibly makes some system 32 files, and a program files folder, but it doesent mess with any files

I just want to know.. how do you think XBC would be able to host their program, on their site, if it was illegal?

(And how could it be illegal in the first place? Is playing system link considered illegal these days?.. >.> )
