I am confused on the SLC subject. Does SLC mean if I have Skull Island on my xbox as ascension, any person without the mod can join with just ascension. I have Halo 2 Remapped discs 1-3 and like half of 4. Even if the map is not SLC, can I still play the map system link if they have the exact modded map? For ex. I will have my 2 xboxes with a halo 2 remapped DVD. Can they play system link? Sorry if I confused ya'll. I'm wandering because I'm doing a LAN party soon and want to play the halo remapped DVD's. Thanks for the help.

No, SLC, means that if you have Skull Island, and your friend has Skull Island, you can both join on a System Link (Or Tunneled) game. Anyone without the mod who tries to join, will be sent to bluescreen. And, Halo 2 Remapped is garbage, only a few of the maps on it are SLC, and it was poorly put together. However, if you wish to download the Killtrocity mappack, EVERY map is SLC.

alright, I know its garbage, I have the killtrocity map pack but my friends never play with mods so ususally people who start out like that run fast jump high proj swap stuff and we'll jsut screw around. Thanks for the help.

False, players without the mod will spawn in what appears to be an unmodded map. This is as a generality, and may not be true for Skull Island specifically, however, it is true for most SLC mods.

Lies. Their xbox will attempt to load the machines (Trees) and newly added netgame equipment, won't be able to locate them, and will send them into a blue screen of death. <_<

It let me into a game of Halo Derby on an unmodded Xbox.

But overall, you can system link if both boxes have the same exact map?

Yes, but some things such as Pelicans, and new scenery will probably not show up.
