how to use a hex editor???

ya ok well forget insolence i like dothalo better and it seems like instead of using the goof tag on insolence to let others play my mods on system link i can just use the hex editor in dot halo??? if this is true i was hoping someone could kindly teach me how to use it because frankly lol all i see is a bunch of numbers with no meanning...... i am trying to slowly teach myself but it is still very complicated without knowing where to start so if someone could lend me a hand in this id appreciate it

Dothalo's Hex Editor does not save.
