i have tried thousands of things to get rid of the reflection on the water(im doing a dark map) nothing has worked, anton told me to null out the lightmap.. that just made the map blindingly bright. does any one have any idea how to fix this?

could i find like water from a different map, or get rid of the waves on the water, cause those are what is bright.. i really dont know but if i cant get this reflection gone, my map is ruined.

first of all dont ask why i need them... thats my own buisness, if your not going to help then dont post... but i need them gone because i made my map pretty dark.. and then u see a huge reflection coming off the water. it doesnt look right.. at all.

ok so you tried nulling all the part with water involved, except for the water itself, out?

yea done that too. idk what i can do.. maybe it has to do with the sun. but i dont see the sun cuz i have a fog layer. theres not really a glare until i come up close to the water, but its a BIG glare.

i took a couple of pictures of the glare on the water.. the glare kinda follows u, its not in 1 exact spot (like the sun would do) im pretty sure i nulled out the sun, not sure though.

well the picture isn't that great but how about you just do something to the bitmap/reflection/whatever it is maybe that will help

Look in the [lens] tag. If you find nothing, try looking for bitmaps that have to do with water...you might have to edit a cupemap bitmap also..just try looking in the bitm tag.

ive done both of those things.

In the bitm tag, there is a bitmap and it is an overveiw of the whole level..except the water..just try extracting it and skinning the part where the water is, and make that part darker so it shows through the water.

no clue what your talking about. and id rather not mess with the bitmaps. there has to be another way, maybe i didnt fully remove the sun can some 1 fully explain how to remove the sun(i cant see thru my fog)

Dude,
Go into the water's shader tag. Click Lone ID's. Mess around in there and it should fix your problem.
