I need about 300mbs more of memory + even more to download Halo 2 to my xbox. What do you suggest I do to get more memory? I really need to download Halo 2 to my dashboard so I can mod the old maps too. How do you guys end up having enough room for Halo 2 on your harddrive? and what can I do to get more room in there? (Lol)
(BTW: No matter what, I am backing up everything on my Computer before I delete it off of the xbox.)

Delete gamesaves and gametypes for other game you know you don't use. I just delted everything. Also music takes up a lot of room as well.

buy a big-ass hard drive and stick it in. invest in one over 80 gigs so it won't fill up fast. my pc has a 160 GB in it and i've only got it 37% full (and that's the 145 GB partition too! there's a D drive partition with the OS backed up on it)

Patrickssj6:
I have all the multiplayer maps saved on my XBOX hard drive but the whole game isnt on the XBOX harddrive so the game will not load from the Xbox so when I put in Halo 2 it just load the maps from the disc not the harddrive sicne I didnt boot it up from the harddrive.

Sorry if I wasnt very clear on this but I mean my Xbox E: drive...I need room on it, I have 113 gigs left on my computer, Im not worried at all..

I cant believe that the multiplayer maps take up so much space.

They are like 200 Megs each. Check.
Are there and specific unneeded E: folders or files that I can delete without anything messing up?

didn't know u were talkin about an xbox.
course, i believe i heard about some guys that were able to put a larger HDD in their modded xbox. don't know if it's trou though.
but best bet for you is to get rid of everything you don't need. back up the whole thing onto your pc then wipe the unnecessary stuff.

Hey I have Unleash X dash and when I go into file manager theres an option to zip each file (individually). When I zip each it makes a zipped copy of that file, reducing its capacity on the HD, would I be able to delete the unzipped file and have everything still work?

Yes I know.
I actually got it all. I copied all of the multiplayer and campaign files to my UnleashX dash through Dvd2Xbox under E:games/halo2 and I copied the main file (Theres a main file that starts up the whole game) as well.
You know that intro movie with Bungies name and all? Yea I didnt copy that, but the game still works, and I dont have to watch it! (It does have a loading screen, but its like 7 seconds shorter (You know that Loading 1%...etc., that). So Im prety sure that intro is actually a subliminal loading screen, since you can skip the movie after a while..
Anyway, Back on topic, I have everything needed to play Halo 2 on my xbox, and I backed up all the maps on my computer. I have like 400 megabytes left on my xbox, and everythign working fine!
(I even figured out the problem when using the Super PPF program!)

1. The Halo 2 multiplayer maps are
not 200 mb each, they are more like 30 - 40 mb. Campaign maps on the other hand
are more like 200 mb.
2. You can put a new hard drive into a modded Xbox, it's really easy.
3.
This is for making Halo 2 fit on a DVD, but it tells you what files you can safely delete (in addition to campaign maps.)
I'm going to lock this because you fixed it, and because it is getting way to close to Xbox modding discussion.
