So let me get this straight...
You have a wireless network adapter installed (PCI, USB, whatever) and a 10/100 Ethernet port in your system, correct?
-Buy a Cat5e Crossover cable (the Xbox System link cable is one)
-Plug the Xbox into the computer
-Open up your Control Panel
-Go to Network Connections (provided you are using the Classic View in XP)
-Select both your wired adapter and your wireless adapter via highlighting
-Right click, select "Bridge Connections"
-Now, here's where the path varies...
Your PC is connected to a router:
A. Set your Xbox to automatic, and the DHCP server in your router should do the work
B. Run Start->cmd->ipconfig /all
-Keep that data ready
-Set your Xbox to manual and get it match all those settings except IP address. Choose one with a 4th group (last numbers after 3rd dot) that is NOT USED.
- This gives you a Static IP - which makes things easier, mroe reliable and a lot better for port forwarding.
Your PC is not connected to a router:
-COnfigure the PC to be a DHCP server and set the Xbox to automatic
-Not 100% familiar on this one - I'm more of a Static IP guy.
Now that I'v ebeen so helpful with my networking knowledge, I'd like to point out that if I EVER catch you using this to cheat on Xbox Live, I will personally make it my life goal to hunt down and kill you.
