DVD Drive

I just got a second DVD drive on my computer so I could have on drive reading a CD and the other making a copy of it. Anyways, when I put a disk into it, The drive does not read the disk. It opem and stuff but it will not read any disks. Can anyone help me out with what may be wrong? Thanks!

why would you by another drive, you make a disc image with one drive then burn the image to a disc!

I wanted another one because I needed it. It is a lot easier. So are you gonna help me or not?

Are you sure that your new drive is compatible with your computer? Not all drives work with everything.

are the cables in correctly there is 2 cables one from the motherboard and one from the powersupply.
