Need help modding map pack

Post by BIGNASTY420 »

I transferred the newer maps for Halo2 to my computer. I made the changes that I wanted and transferred the modded maps back to the TDATA folder that they came from. Now when I try to play the maps, they fail to load. I have no trouble modding the campaign maps and the other multiplayer maps. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Add them to your mainmenu.

Also make sure you have the right scenario names listed in dothalo when you add them.

This is the full version of what I have been doing. I have tried several but I will use Turf as an example.

1. I open the map with hex workshop, change the scenario name to scenarios\multi\turf_mod\turf_mod and save the changes. (After doing this, DotHalo will not open the map to fix the encryption but Insolence will.)

2. When the map is open in Insolence, the scenario tag does not show the changes that I made with Hex Workshop. Because of this, I rename the tag with Insolence as well and fix the encryption. (Dot Halo will now open the map and all changes that were made show up just fine.)

3. I now open the main menu map and go to the matg globals tag. I scroll to the 12th possible map location to create a new one.

4. I name the map, add a description, and make sure the scenario name is the same as the one on the modified tuf map.

5. I put the value and next value both at 420, I leave "locked" turned off, and select 2 teams ctf/inf teams TS. I save the changes to the tag and fix the maps encrypytion.

6. Using FlashFXP, I put the newly modded Turf map and main menu map into the halo2 maps folder of my xbox. I also go to the /E/TDATA/4d530064/$U/ folder and add a 2 behind the names of the three files found there.

After doing this, I start Halo2 and the modified Turf map shows up as well as my description for the map. Instead of having a picture for Turf however, it shows the picture for Zanzibar. When I try to start a game, it says that I failed to load the map. I know that somewhere I am screwing up. I just can't figure out where. Please help, I would appreciate it.
