HALO CUSTOM EDITION CHAT PROBLEM

Hey everyone. when i play halo and try to type. like when i hit T for type the box at the bottom shows up but i cant see what im typing. i cant give see "Donut kill church" or "You god assraped by Tucker". can someone help me please!!!!
