Computer missing dll or something. Please help

Post by dos mes »

I have already done a registry scan, virus scan and many different spyware scans, however I still have all of these problems.

Question #1: Whenever I try to open apps like 3ds Max and photoshop I get this error. It has different oxc0000(xyxyx) parts for different apps.

Code: Select all

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.
Then I reinstalled it and I got the same error. I have never had this before. An answer to how to fix this would be appreciated.

Question #2: I can't download anythign because it tells me that

Code: Select all

C:\DOCUME~1\Alec\LOCALS~1\Temp\(different numbers with each download.rar could not be saved, becuase the source file could not be read.
Question #3: Whenever I try to open a map in most map editors like dothalo, insolence, ADI, and others.(although it opens in bitmap internalizer and hex editors) it tells me that access to the vertain file is denied. This is the JIT Debug I get-

Code: Select all

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

If you Click the link you will see that the writer wrote:
Anti-virus programme maker McAfee Inc. has admitted that its update for a number of virus-scanning products caused havoc Friday in corporate and consumer systems using the virus protection products when a virus definition file triggered the quarantine or deletion function for several executable files, including Microsoft's Excel.The problem occurred when the company released its DAT file -- or virus definition file -- No 4715 as part of a daily updating routine and intended to refine McAfee anti-virus products' capability to catch the W95/CTX virus. In a matter of minutes, the company's customers started seeing an unusual number of files being quarantined or deleted by scans using the newly-released update. While excel.exe was the most affected, the list of exe files released by McAfee as having affected by the update was of seven pages. Users complained that the anti-virus programme tried to remove files including Perl, Sysinternals' PcTools suite, various Oracle binaries, Dell OpenManage, Google Toolbar installer and programs that run Macromedia Flash Player, Sun's Java application and Adobe update manager....

Wow, yea the updates are auto for me becuase I thought that it would be the best option. Thank you soo much, this is probably why my computer is acting this way although I'm not sure. I hope it is only becuase then I know what the problem is. If anyone else has any more ideas to pool that would be helpful if this is not the problem.

Actually some people have had more problems with norton not being able to detect simple virus, some technicions say that it has a bad fault of wreaking gateways between partitioned drives.

So...
