Editing mainmenu.map and adding maps with previews (easier?)

Hey guys I know how to add a map to the mainmenu.map but not sure about how to add a preview. I have used a hex editor and dothalo to add a map to mainmenu.map but it just replaced over an existing map, however I probably did something wrong. There isn't a program by any chance. I know with Serenity you can only do one map and not a bunch. I know XBOX War3z was working on a program over at angrycamel.com and that was a while ago. Thanks..

As of yet, there isn't a program to do so, your best bet would be to inject an image with DotHalo or some other program, and then hex it so all of the maps dont reference the same image.

yeah thanks tural, I was just watching your tut vid about adding a preview. However can you actually add a map rather then just replacing it over one. I probably just did it wrong when I tried it a few days back.

12 is the first free slot (no map already added) in the mainmenu, and you can add up to 50, so you have 38 slots free, that don't replace a map already in the mainmenu.

Alright Thanks Tural I will just try it again. Thanks for the help I will tell you how it goes. One more thing, do you know how to change the mainmenu's text etc? I guess hexing? but what are the offsets?

Alright I tried it again and it still went over zanzibar, it did indeed switch the picture. I followed your tut exactly and I used slot 12 and got the scenarios from the modded map on the hex editor. Could it be doing what is doing because I have the new maps like relic etc. So I switch it to slot 22 but that didnt work ethier any suggestions?

If you have the 1.1 Auto Update and TDATA maps, you can't add maps to your mainmenu, you have to disable the update and add the 9 maps to your mainmenu.

Sorry about the double.. Okay I got it loading right with the preview and in the right spot (I delet the update and new maps) but instead of loading the mod its loading the org. level (foundation). Here's what the mod said for the scenarios: scenarios\multi\marathon\foundation\foundation

You need to change the modded map's scenario value, otherwise it's just going to load the original map.

Alright I did that I switch the modded map to scenarios\multi\marathon\whatever\whatever then I saved the moded map from the hex editor then I switch the mainmenu.map in dothalo to that and now it says failed to load map, others wise everything is working

Yes, but let me resign again. Maybe I forgot main menu, pretty sure I didn't.

I got it I changed it again in the hex, dont know what I did different but it works now, thanks for all your help.
