Well that almost worked. See my problem is i have the new HP Media Center PC and it has the little input ports in front, the red yellow and white things. I plug my xbox into those and capture my video that way. But i can only capture it in Sonic MYDVD or InterWin Video DVD Creator format. So i need a program that can convert those to another format so i can open them in that CamStudio program. So if anyone has a link to a format converter i would really appreciate that. The formats i capture video in are .dvd and . wcp if it helps any. Thanks for any help.

The software that comes with the integrated capture card should have an option to export.
Whether as a .avi, .wmv, or .mpeg, it really depends.
Search in your program for an option called "export", and there you should have some settings to edit to your liking.

No see thats the problem. I have a windows media center edition pc that has the little red, white and yellow connecters in the front so i just plug my xbox into it, open a program called Sonic MyDVD and click capture and it takes video for me. But i can only save the file as a .dvd which is why i need a converter of some kind. Sorry i forgot to explain that earlier.

I know exactly what you mean.
You have an internal composite capture card. I have two as well.
However, if the program you use to capture the input does not have an export option, then I have no clue why they would even bother to code such a program.
If all it does is capture a .DVD format, then the only way you could convert it without a convertor, would be to burn it to a DVD, then rip it back to your computer as a different kind of encoded file. Such as .AVI or .MOV.
However, if there is a .DVD format, and their program does not export it as something else, then money says that there is a different program out there that they want you to buy in order to convert it.
I will search, but money says that it will be shareware, not freeware.

ok yeah i just realized it does save it as a .mpeg or something like that..but when i edit it in that same program like give it an intro with text or change the effect of it or whatever, it will only save it as a .dvd. If you know of a free program where i can do things like adding a text intro, adding a background song, chnaging the efffect or just about anything i would like that as well. And also thanks for helping me out so fast on this problem.

Save the video as a .MPEG and edit in a different program.
If the program you are using now only saves as a .DVD, then it must be a DVD authoring/editing program.
As lonstart88 said before, you can download different video editing programs, but again, these will most likely be shareware, not freeware.
