hmm its worth a try, if I reinstall will it delete my firefox profile and bookmarks?

Most likely. But to me it sounds like you don't have much of a choice ayway... What good are bookmarks if you can't use them?

meh I just tracked down the bookmarks and reinstalled. No longer need help.
