HELP WITH MOD MULTYPLAYER

Hi i've been downloading files off of this site for a while. Sometimes the work and sometimes they don't. I play halo on my pc and mac. When a mod doesn't work they claim its just a regular map. Although i extract ppf files and switch map files to the right spots.......What am i doing wrong? What do i need to do right? Please help.
