milkshape help....

ok on most models, when i try to move the indicies, it only selects some of them......even though i drag across the whole area and if i put it into the game it looks really crappy.... any help on this?? 
and when i look at it ingame the parts that did move are attached to the parts that didnt select and it makes it all stretchy where i dont want it to be and its just being really evil, and it even does this if theres only 1 model to export.
