ok i relly need help i just formatted my computer and im trying to install halo and it all goes good untill the progress bar reached 97% and it says its installing sidewinder.map then its stops for about a minute and then i get an error that says "Halo setup encounterd an error while writing to the file C:program files\microsoft games\halo\maps\sidewinder.map. Make sure your hard disk is not full and the file is not in use." i dont understand it cant be in use because its not even written and my hard disk is damn near empty because i just formatted . all your help would be appreciated . Thanks

Your disk might have a scratch on it. That's the only thing I can think of. Sorry.

well i went over to my friends house yesterday and tried to install it on his computer and it did the same thinkg but i dont have any scratches on the disk... i guess ill just have to contact microsoft and see what we can do about it. thanks

*EDIT* thanks for your help your right it was a scratch thank god for CD repair kits

well time to download halo CE and start modding.PEACE
