Can You mod Halo 2 just with internet connected to it ?

To add a modded map or just to and a mod to a regular map on Halo 2 do you have to have a Mod chip? At my house I have a D - link with 4 ethernet cable ports that you can use to connect to the Internet . Coudl I just use 2 ethernet cables and connect my computer and Xbox at the same time and be able to mod Halo 2 ? Please answer ...

You have to mod your xbox, period.
