Post by JK-47 »

ok im having problems with connecting to XBC, and the people in the help channel wont help me....

anyways i have everything needed to connect to it (unless a Cat6 wire is the wrong wire)

but it wont detect my xbox, i disabled my firewall for long enought for it to detect my xbox but it couldnt find it, anyone know whats wrong?
Could someone post step by step instructions on how to connect to it, it would be appreciated, because i want to get this running so i can make a movie with some people.

It's supposed to be a Cat5, but a Cat6 should work.

There's a few ways to set it up, the easiest in my opinion is having the internet go into a router, and from the router to your PC, and from another port in the router into your Xbox. You can also have the internet go into your PC and from your PC into you Xbox, but then you need two ethernet ports, and a crossover cable.

two ethernet ports? awwww

Um, i have wireless internet and i have a router and all that good stuff upstairs, so could i plug my xbox into that, then open up XBC? would it detect the xbox over the wireless-ness like a shared file?

It might, but I have personal had trouble using a wireless network, I had my laptop connected to the internet through a wireless card, and the Xbox connected to the laptop by the ethernet port, and I couldn't get XBC to detect the Xbox. Your best bet is to connect both the Xbox and PC to the same router, that is connected to the internet.

I would try getting your xbox, computer, and router in the same place, using a cat5 wire, and make sure you are on the system link menu so that XBC can recognize the xbox is searching for games.
