Allright i explained in my last post about it freezing in the main menu well i think i found out why. It is the 4d530064 folder, in the udata and tdata folder. before i start the game i can erase both of these folders in my E and F drives, and as soon as i start the game it will lock up and when i look through my folders it put these files in my E drive where the game is on my F drive. I just upgraded my hdd using xeniums hdd upgrade wizard is there something that i have to do besides locking the hdd back. I think i burned the game before i backed up my system and maybe that is why, it still thinks that it has to go to the E drive. Please Help.....

I had this EXACT same problem, it made me so angry, it freezes when you 'press start to continue' doesnt it? After some searching around I found you need to clear your cache
Delete everything in E:\CACHE and your X, Y, and Z drives. Then it will work
Edit: Dont delete the fonts folder in either X, Y, or Z - if you do just boot Halo 2 off the disc once to restore it. Or copy it from your H2 directory.

alright i deleted the files like tural said and i start it up and i can get up to the game starts in like 02 seconds and then it freezes again. there is also a folder in one of my drives that is named sgf dont know what that is. and as soon as the game freezes i reboot to evox and the files are back where i deleted them before. please help.....
i have also tried putting the files that are in my y drive which is sgf(folder) and 4 cache.map and two savegame.bin all into another folder that i created in that drive and it erases and rewrites everything back to the way it was exactly the same thing with the E/CACHE folder it puts it right back once i try to play it..

alright i think that i found the problem i transfered the $u folder to my E/TDATA folder and they were named with the two on the end so that i could put a map pack that i had on the main menu. as soon as i changed the contents of the folder back to the original without the 2's in them the game played fine.
but when i try to play a map that is in the map pack it starts the game and instead of saying the game failed to load it goes black and takes me back to the start game or change options screen. i also have the new maps from xbox live on my hdd but they dont show up. i think it is becuse i do not have the $c folder to go with the $u folder in my tdata folder and now that i have my new hdd can not go on live to dl that file..
if any one has it can you please send it to me...
or if that is against the rules any ideas how to get it....
