installing graphics card help

i just got a new graphics card (the Radeon 9250 Video Card, PCI, 256MB DDR) and i have an onboard graphics card (Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller) so to install the new card i turned off my computer and installed the card then plugged my moniter into the new card. then i turned on my computer and nothing showed up it was just black but the sound worked and i could hear windows starting up but there was no picture on the moniter so what happened? please help

did u got software that came along with the new hardware? ifso install, otherwise i would not know, soz

try plugging the monitor into the old port and see if it works. But leave the card in. Then do a 'search for new hardware'. See where that gets you. If you're still having trouble, see if the card you got has a tech support line you can call.
