Help with dark matter Edit and even worse.

I have the beta of dark matter from the utillitys section. These are the steps of what I did with the app darkmatter.
1.I exstracter the fp model of the battle rifle.
2.I opend milk shape and edited the 03 modle(dont know witch one to edit.
3.I tryd to export it back into dark matter but it gave me an error something about a text file.

Can some one please send me a specified tutoral on how to work this dark matter app.
I realy need some help I have so many ideas & ther good ideas for,Great mods I can make I realy hope some people can help me with this thanks.
Edit: When I messed with the obj file in milkshape it gave me an error when i tryed to import it back in it said C:documents\Desktop\guns\guns.info Error
So whats this mean I need all the info you guys can help me with please help im begging you
