Problem starting Halo

Hiya folks! I have recently run into trouble running Halo CE.

I used to have a monitor that could support a 1600x1200 resolution..so i set everything to that. Now i got a bigger monitor that only supports up to 1280x1024 (=\). So now when i start Halo CE...the splash screen comes up for about 5 seconds...disappears...and then the music starts playing. I can't see halo...its down on the taskbar...but when i click it the music starts playing...but thats it. sometimes when i move the mouse it makes the sound of moving the mouse over some menu words...but thats it.

PLEASE HELP!

P.S. I was thinking...is there any way to maybe start it in safe mode? or to manually change the resolution! HELP PLEASE!
