Re: Tool not working
Dunno if its to late for this, but make sure you arent double clicking tool.exe. This wont work. You have to CD into the Halo CE root directory. Say the HEK is in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition. Do this. Go To start, run and type cmd and hit enter. Type cd C:\ and hit enter. now type cd Program Files and hit enter. Now type cd Microsoft Games and hit enter. Then type Halo Custom Edition and hit enter. Then, type tool and hit enter. A list of commands will come up. You have to add command arguments to tool. For example, tool bitmaps makes bitmaps. Refer to tutorials for more on that. If your still totally confused, go into your WINDOWS/system32 (or Winnt depending on what Windows you are using) and copy cmd.exe and put it in your Halo CE root directory. Double click that and youll already be in that directory and just need to type tool and options. Again, refer to tutorials for better instructions.

put a shortcut of cmd on your desktop. next right click on it and choose properties. find where it says start in then type this in that area (if this is where your halo ce folder is, if not you know what to do, put the right one in, lol) C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition. after that start cmd and then type tool in and that should work
!

nope... still not working. this is the debug log error txt.

when you changed the start in option on the cmd program did it look like this? c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition
then when you start up cmd it should say this c:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition
now just type tool.
you do not need the exe file of tool in the hek file (but do not delete it)

Ok, Ok.
If your on Windows XP, go into C:\WINDOWS\system32
If your on Windows 2000 or Windows NT, go into C:\Winnt\system32
If your on Windows 9x, go into C:\WINDOWS\system32 and look for the DOS executable.
Now copy cmd.exe from that folder to your Halo CE root directory(the folder with all the Halo stuff in it). Double click the newly copied cmd.exe in the Halo CE folder. A Command Prompt Should come up. type tool and hit enter. A list of options should come up. Then just continue to follow whatever tutorials you are following.

No clue....this isnt making any sense. Is your XP upgraded completely? Thats the last thing I can think of. The ./toolbeta map happens to me to but I can ignore it and tool will still work.Xiion wrote:im usign windows xp. also i tryed to install action replay but when i put in disk and hit auto play i got this error: "The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter protected mode, DOSX.EXE must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH" wtf does this mean and why do i get this message?
