Is it possible to convert iTunes music to other formats?

I don't think it is possible because they are set just to one format when you purchase or download them, maybe in the future there could be a program where you can convert them.

I have searched the Internet tirelessly for a conversion tool but to no success, sorry if I wasn't any help.

Well, if you want to go about it the long way, you could try burning them as a CD and then re-recording them to your computer in a different format. That is, of course if iTunes music is able to be recorded as a CD.

What format are iTunes music in, anyways? I'll admit to not being knowledgeable about iTunes. But if it's mp3, wav, wma, or ogg, I'd suggest trying this.

Both m4a and m4p are mp4's (Mpeg-4, or AAC)

The thing is, if you download a song off the iTunes Music Store, they encrypt it using the PlayFair encryption... If we were to tell you how to remove that encryption, I would get in trouble (To tell the truth, I don't really know how, so don't ask

)

The format you download the music in off of iTMS is .m4p, (I'm guessing that stands for Mpeg-4 Protected, don't know) and if you were to import it off of a CD it would be .m4a.

To convert a song within iTunes, you have to change the format iTunes imports in. To do this, just go to the preferences, go to Importing, and change it to the format you like. Then go find the song in the Library, right click on it, and it'll say Convert Selection to [Format]. It'll make a copy in the source location, so you don't have to worry about copying it before doing that.
