mip maps

ok. gmax is way differant than 3ds max. how do i add mip maps to a object that i want to have a certain skin on. like i have a pistol but its jsut grey. i have the texture for it but i dont know how to add it to the pistol. its differant than 3ds max 7

A mip map has to do with the texture, not the model. If you tried to use a material with mip maps on a weapon, it'd look bad, you don't need them for Gmax.....it would look different in a render, it'll be gray in the viewports because it's not rendered, so it doesn't show the texture.

then read my other post. gmax is diff from 3ds and i cant find out how to render
