I ve got a few questions about halo and it's mods : (btw, I am talking about Halo PC)
- 1st : what do I EXACTLY need for modding halo ? (I mean to play mods)
- 2d : why the hell do I allways get exception problem regardless of the mod I ve DOWNLOADED FROM THE FORUMS ? there is no problems about the mods I do, but I cant get a forum's mod working
no matter what mod it is, all I can get from forum's mod are the exception window :(
- 3rd : how do I add a Wraith on a sp map ? Do I use HMT3.5, copy/paste the model number into the worthog meta ? (cant remenber the terms, sorry :oops: )
- 4th : how do I spawn AI in maps ? can AI be spawned in sp maps ? if yes, how ? (I know that AI can be spawned in mp maps...)
I 'd like the steps, which prog do you use, where do you go, etc
- 5th : what are PMI use ? how do I use them ? are they just the meta number ?
- 6th : since the energy sword has no skin when you wear it, so... you have to replace it with the plasma rifle. and ? it shouldn't be able to hit anyway 0.o
- 7th : why cant I use a AR when I play as a elite ? I saw mods which allowed them to use human weapons
8th : what is Halo Custom Edition ? I heard it was a kind of mp patch or something like that...

Thats a lot of questions.....

Ok.
1.Exactly what you need for modding. To start you need a general
understanding of whats possible for Halo PC, without this, you're not going
anywhere fast. You can get this here by reading a few starter tutorials.

Take some time and go through the Tutorials forum both here and over at
files. Download a bunch of tuts and tools and try stuff out.

2. I dont know why you always get an exception. Try one of my mods, I
know they work and they always come with a custom gametype and
install instructions. you will need Winrar (google for it) to decompress
the .rar files to get at the .map files and install text files inside.

3. Adding vehicles or bipeds from one map to antoher that they are not
already in, involves perfect model injection with HMT. You will need to get
familiar with HMT, before attempting this. There are a number of tutorials
on how to do this.

4. Spawning AI in maps requires using a combination of some of the other
tools available. HHT, HMT and Sparkedit. And once again, you need some
basic knowledge first.

5. PMI is perfect model injection as mentioned above. Swapping over the
meta numbers wont do what you need.

6. Knaves "Elite modding kit" in one of the download forums here, that
includes a first person sword model. However, putting this together would
be ambitious to say the least, as a first project.

7. To use the AR as an Elite, you need to use phenom's Weapons plugin
for HMT and change the AR weapon type to plasma rifle. This does not
change the weapon physically, it changes who can use it.

8. Halo Custom Edition is a stand alone addition to Halo PC that allows
you to create new maps and items for use by other Halo Custom Edition
users. Halo PC can only edit existing items, Halo CE can create new items
from scratch. The learning curve on CE is much steeper than using HPC
tools, plus the maps can only be played by other Hale CE users, not the
much larger Halo PC group.
